While the 12 and 15 have always been popular for surf fishing and anglers fishing topwater on a boat because of their magnetic cast control dial, they have added the 15SDCS with a cast control knob for extra control when casting long distances. The frames are graphite and internally, Penn has incorporated a bronze main gear and stainless pinion for strength and longevity. There are seven shielded stainless steel bearings and a live spindle with free floating aluminum spool for extra casting oomph.
